Now that the Confirmation Mass is right around the corner, we have to start working out the logistics! Check out the list below for needed help. It would mean so much to the confirmondis if you were there! If you are available to help out, please fill out the form at the bottom of this post.
The Paschal Mystery. The word “mystery” means so much when paired with “paschal.” No one can truly understand what it means to die for the sins of everyone. When we say everyone, we mean everyone! This 3 day retreat explores that Paschal Mystery in a life changing way. The TEC experience has been around for almost 50 years all throughout the country.
Tonight on ABC at 10:35 SpiritJuice Studios (a catholic media group) will be featured on Nightline for their response to the “I Love Jesus but Hate Religion” video that went viral a couple of weeks ago.
December 12, 2011 – The Feast of our Lady of Guadalupe
JPII with his mama
For most of my life, I thought this feast day was only for Mexicans. How wrong I was… For obvious reasons, our Lady and Mexico are tight (I mean, she decided to show herself to a native Mexican). We can often forget that on in 1754, Pope Benedict XIV declared our Lady as the Patroness of New Spain, meaning North and South America (and everything else in between). In high school, December 12 (if I was lucky to have it land on a weekday) was a day for my friends and I to attend las mañanitas and the rosary. Afterward, we’d head to IHOP for “fellowship.” Fellowship at the time was another word for you get to skip school for “religious reasons.” Now, waking up at 4:30 in the morning is chance for me to gather with a full church (90% of which is Hispanic) and together, with Catholics all over the world (including Papa B) thank Mary for her love and protection that only a heavenly mother can provide.
St. Margaret Mary has a number of events taking place leading up to the Feast Day. Check out the schedule! I’ll for sure be at las mañanitas and I’ll be more than happy to save a seat for anyone who’d like to go.
PS – Happy feast day of Juan! (That’s right, he and I are tight enough to be on a first name basis)
On Dec. 16 SMMYM will be at the Austin Toros game and we’ll be having a pre-game rally from 6p until tip-off! The best part is: tickets are only $8! Bring the whole family out to the game!
